ACT Teachers Party-List and DepEd Unite for Promotion of Filipino Language

Rep. Antonio L. Tinio of ACT Teachers Partylist joins the Department of Education (DepEd) today in a program for the turn-over of 1,046 Filipino dictionaries to the officials of the Department of Education led by Sec. Bro. Armin Luistro, Dr. Socorro A. Pilor and Usec. Rizalino Rivera.

The program, held at the central office of the Department of Education, focused on the importance of the dissemination of information and sharing of knowledge of the Filipino Language among educators and students.

“The lack of Filipino Dictionaries among the reference books of our public schools fuelled our advocacy to promote and disseminate the Filipino language. It will bring us contentment to see that every library, every school, every household has a dictionary of our national language. It will satisfy us to witness how the youth will embrace the Filipino language and impart it to others,” Rep. Tinio said.

Rep. Tinio updated the officials of DepEd on the nationwide turn-over of dictionaries and expressed the need for logistical help in reaching regions situated in Visayas and Mindanao.

Bro. Armin Luistro, Secretary of DepEd said that they are very happy that ACT Teachers allotted funds for the promotion of our national language through the publishing of Filipino dictionaries.

Luistro.

DepEd commited its help and support in distributing the dictionaries to schools in the cities of Bacolod, Iloilo, Cebu, Tacloban, Cagayan de Oro, Davao, Cotabato, Gen. Santos and Butuan. #
