ACT Teachers Rep. France Castro on the Announcement of DepEd Sec. Briones on Abolishing Daily Lesson Logs

PRESS RELEASE
27 July 2016
Reference: ACT Teachers France L. Castro (0920 416 6641)

We support the earlier announcement of DepEd Sec. Leonor Briones on abolishing the order released for making Daily Lesson Logs (DLL), or the DO 42, s. 2016 and use the teacher and learner manual instead.

We have received many complaints that in many schools, the DLLs cause additional yet unnecessary hardship to teachers, and worse, without additonal compensation and needs to shell out from their pockets additional expense for internet connection and printing supplies. Writing them take away precious time better spent for developing teaching aids.

It is an oppressive scheme of the K to 12 and RPMS that creates stress among teachers.

I wrote Bro. Luistro years ago to reduce paperwork to 25% of current (some 4 years ago). When will DepEd learn that the best designs are those that accomplish what needs to be accomplished using the simplest methods/systems. The smarter the engineer the simpler the machine. Just like the air-cooled volkswagens of decades ago.

i am a grade 6 teacher and we are having a struggle on how we are going to provide materials for our students during class. we need to download dlls, lms and tgs for our daily teaching because materials were still unprovided by the deped. sana before sila nag implement ng ganito niready muna nila lahat.. nasa techers na po lahat ng burden. sasabihin pa nila teachers are resourcceful ok lang po sana kung malaki sahod namin na kahit anong kelangan sa school na materials we van provide because we are well compensated. sa ngayon kelangan naming bumili ng printer and magpakabit ng internet because we need it everyday and the school cannot provide us the internet connection meron man hindi kami pinapakonek kesyo daw bumabagal connection and hirap na silang makakonek. isa pa, why is that the time alloted for teachers in school is not fair. sa quezon city we knew teachers who come to school at 11:40am since the start of their class is from 12 to 6pm. bakit sa school namin we need to be in school at 9:30am to 6pm. di po ba may batas na dapat ang teachers 6 hours lang sa loob ng klase. may biometrics pang nalalaman. hay naku naman. hindi patas para sa mga teachers. we are teach students to be doctors, laywers, nurses, architects etc pero mas malalaki pa sahod nila sa amin. sila walang iniisip kundi sarili at pamilya lang nila pero kami lahat ng kapakanan ng aming students. nasaan ang hustisya….
