Public school teachers and other DepEd employees can vote before the May 13 elections provided they are:
- Duly registered voters
- Who are assigned, on election day, to perform duties in precincts where they are not registered voters (these include school heads and other DepEd officials assigned as election supervisors, and teachers assigned as members of the Boards of Election Inspectors, and other employees assigned as support staff)
How can they avail of early voting/local absentee voting?
They should first file with their heads of offices or supervisors a duly-accomplished and notarized application form (LAV Form No. 01) not later than 15 March 2013. Photocopied or faxed applications will be denied. The applicant shall indicate in the application that he or she is a bona fide employee of DepEd and that he or she is assigned to perform election duties on election day outside the place where he or she is a registered voter.
COMELEC, through the Committee on Local Absentee Voting (CLAV, headed by poll chair Sixto Brillantes), shall check all applications it received against the National List of Registered Voters. A person whose application was denied by the CLAV shall be informed of the denial by the head of office or supervisor.
When and where can early voters cast their votes?
Early voters can vote on April 28, 29, and 30, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. under the direct supervision and presence of the Municipal/City/District Election Officer, the Provincial Election Supervisor, or the NCR Regional Election Director, or the representative of said officials. To check where your early polling center is, you can inquire with the CLAV or secure a copy of the list of designated polling centers from it beginning April 15.
What positions can be voted for by early voters?
Early voters can vote only for Senators and Party-List Representatives.
